Porcupine Gorge Challenge

Challengers follow a gruelling 8 kilometre course along the base of the spectacular Porcupine Gorge National Park.  The park, just 74km north of Hughenden, features towering cliffs of coloured sandstone, pockets of vine forest and deep permanent waterholes. The event attracts serious competitors from all over Australia looking to compete in a unique outdoor location. Spectators get the opportunity to watch the challenge and enjoy some outdoor activities in this beautiful part of the world.   Both spectators and challengers have the option of camping at the gorge over the weekend to truly appreciate this natural environment. The Porcupine Gorge Challenge is held annually usually in June.
