For one of the best views in the Flinders Shire, take a short drive out to Mount Walker; sitting 478m above sea level. There are six lookouts which give you access to spectacular 360 degree views over the surrounding district. The site got its name from Frederick Walker, an explorer who travelled with William Landsborough. The best time to visit is either at sunrise or sunset to capture the sky in it's magnificent colours. The road up to Mount Walker has a 16% incline and is not recommended for large motorhomes, buses or vehicles towing. It's a sealed road to the top of the hill, but there is a 1.7km unsealed section from the main road.
